Hey, little buddies!
Reading in Proverbs this afternoon, I came across this verse, Proverbs 15:1: “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, watching the evil and the good.”
You can look at that verse in a number of ways.
It means that God sees every wrong thing we do, so we
should expect to be disciplined for our wrongs, even if nobody sees but God.
Or we could look at the positive side: God always sees when I try hard to do right, so I know that I will be rewarded.
But that’s not all. Think for a minute about the fact that God is watching the evil and the good in every place. That means He’s watching you! That means that you are so important to God that He never takes His eyes off you. Yes, He cares whether you do right or wrong. It also means that He cares whether others do right or wrong toward you!
You don’t have to resent it when others lie about you or hurt your feelings. God will take care of that. He may sometimes let it happen for the very purpose of giving you a chance to show God’s forgiving love to someone who treats you unkindly.
His purposes are far bigger than the things that happen to us. He is so great that He is able to be in every place, watching the evil and the good. He is also so great that He cares about you and all the joys and cares that come into your life.
He will never leave you nor forsake you. Remember that when the next joy or sorrow comes.
It comes from a loving heavenly Father.
