Proverbs 22:1 says, “A good name is more to be desired than great riches.” Very true!
If you were very rich but nobody liked you, you wouldn’t be a very happy person. On the other hand, the happiest people in the world aren’t those who have lots of money but those who have a good testimony as sincere Christians and honest people.
When you’re tempted to do a wrong thing, think about that. Even if others tempt you to do it, even if they call you names or exclude you from their group, stick to your guns. You can have a good name if you always try to do what is right, and that good name will bring you more friends in the long run than compromising with evil will today.
