Hey, little buddies!
One of my favorite Bible verses is Phillipians 1:10.
It says, “That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.”
So, I have a question for you. Do you approve the things that are excellent?
You may not understand what I mean. What I’m asking is this: do you want to give your very best to God? Or are you content to go through life just trying to have a good time and get by without working too hard?
Most people, especially young people, choose the easier way. They spend their time watching television and playing video games because that’s what pleases them. They only work when they have to, and they don’t spend their spare time reading good books or studying the Bible or serving others through volunteer work and Christian ministries.
You must decide whether you want to spend your life in serving God and others, or in serving yourself.
You can compromise with the world and settle for the easy way. But, you’ll miss out on the most rewarding things in life and your reward in heaven will be small.
You can live selfishly and play your time away, dabbling in sin because everybody else seems to do it. But, you won’t have a lot of respect for the guy you see in the mirror.
I suggest that you do what Jesus did. He said, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” That’s Mark 10:14.
