Andrew Shields crossed the Atlantic as an indentured slave, languishing in the dark, smelly hold of a ship.  Landing in the Virginia colony, he carried with him a secret that could cost him his life if it was discovered by Governor Berkley, the crooked tyrant who ruled Virginia with an iron hand.  Andrew’s inner strength would be severely tested as he fought nature, an evil Governor, and the bloodthirsty Susquehannocks to regain his stolen birthright. And along the way, he would also struggle to win the heart of the beautiful Livvy Constant.
